Frog

Forgot to post this doodle I did a few days ago.

There are so many places for artists to post artwork to these days, I always seem to miss one.
Thanks, social networking(!)

2012

A huge thank you to all my blog readers and all the lovely comments that I've had throughout 2011 - it was a super year for me and I sure hope it was the same for everybody else too.

Happy new year, everyone!

Sir Redtail

Sorry that the posts here are few and far between at the moment.
I've just been spending more time coding than holding my pencil tablet pen.

A quick doodle from today though!

Late Halloween

Two days late, but I think that's okay ;)

Here's a pumpkin that Rob carved while I made the most of its gutted insides....yum! Basically, we took the chance to show our love (yet again) for those cute little slimes from the Dragon Quest games.

I also planned to get a Halloween themed picture drawn, but didn't really get to finish it properly due to intense sleepiness. Managed to create an amazingly complex character instead though.

Scribbles

I haven't posted sketches like these in a looong time (not that I haven't been drawing - I just became lazy and used throwaway pieces of paper to draw on). So I thought it'd be a good idea to get the good old A3 paper out again and get doodling in a more organised fashion.

Here is a mix of 'on the phone' scribbles, 'waiting for the damn computer to load' scribbles & dedicated drawing time scribbles.

Man head

Practising more head modelling in Maya.

Girl head

This was more of a practice piece than an actual illustration, hence the extremely creative title, 'Girl head'. I've only ever modelled a few heads in 3d so I thought it would be a good idea to make another attempt.

Maya, as usual.

PS I'm super happy that lots of people downloaded my wallpapers, cheers!

Man Heads

I'm not too great at drawing males and don't really practise it enough, but today I decided to make some time to do just that. Fun, fun, fun!

Brogues

Quick and dirty sketching of brogues, which are probably the coolest shoes ever.
All digital process here...

Achievement Aliens

This quick colour sketch was a pitch for a job illustrating school award merchandise. Unfortunately I didn't get the job (well, I never got a reply from the guy so I'm guessing he just decided to rudely ignore all who weren't successful). Anyhoo, thought I'd post this little thing for you to see :)

You have a face in your food!

Making faces out of quick watercolour blobs. Turns out I see food in everything!

Long time, no post!

It feels like I've been neglecting this blog so I better get back to updating it with some more stuff (and more often too). The images here are actually linked from my Flickr, so if you prefer, you can follow me there and add me as a contact if you like!! :)
