Achievement Aliens
This quick colour sketch was a pitch for a job illustrating school award merchandise. Unfortunately I didn't get the job (well, I never got a reply from the guy so I'm guessing he just decided to rudely ignore all who weren't successful). Anyhoo, thought I'd post this little thing for you to see :)

Snow Slimes
Q. When a big blanket of snow comes knocking at your door, what do you do?
A. PLAY
...and that's exactly what Rob and I did yesterday evening. After much snowball rolling, occasional snowball throwing and snow sculpting (with scavenged christmas tree stand parts), we managed to create this:

These 'Snow Slimes,' as I have now named them, are actually characters from the "Dragon Quest Heroes" games. They're cute little poo shaped things that like to bounce around :) and here is me looking happy and proud with the poo shaped things.

PS. Apologies for the appaling photos. We were planning to take some better ones this morning but woke up to find it had fallen over during the night *sob*

Mr. Radish
Spent the last few hours making this little radish guy. Everytime I make some 3D, I just can't get over how fun it is to see my characters pop up to 'life'. Actually, there's a part of me that says "stop the 2D and make it all 3D" but I'm not sure if I could really do that. Nevertheless, I highly recommend learning 3D to everyone!

John Zedd
Here is a project that I recently completed: musician John Zedd asked me to create the jacket for his upcoming EP "How To Get Rich Slow", based on one of my existing illustrations. The whole project went very smoothly and it was great fun, mainly due to the fact that John is a lovely guy and a great client! I can't wait until the EP is released (9th March) but for now, John's brilliant music can be found on his MySpace page.

Hair today, gone tomorrow
I didn't think that it could be possible for hair to get so tangled up in a hairbrush that it wouldn't untangle again. I was wrong.
This morning, I experienced exactly that and it turned out to be quite an ordeal: For over an hour, hairbrush and hair were bound together by impossible knots. After the attempts to pull out the hair by hand failed, Rob had to plier out each and every bristle of the hairbrush until it was no longer functional - only then could my hair be set free. I lost A LOT of hair in the process but am totally relieved no scissors came near. Rob is my hero!
Now I sit here writing this with a sore scalp and a slight bald patch on my head. However, the fact that I just ate some very yummy lobster makes up for the terrible experience :)
Oh, and some of my best clothes got thrown into a maggot infested garbage bin today but that's another story...
