A Boy's Business

Just completed this illustration for moodboard's stock image collection - it's the last of a set of four illustrations with the theme of "dressing-up". Take a look at the other three images here at moodboard's brilliant factory blog.

Rooftop Nibbles

Since learning 3D, I've yet to model a building...until now! Below is the result of hours of vertex manipulating and tea drinking. I know, I could have just modelled a simple shed or something but I wanted to challenge myself and be really thorough in the design.

Damn, 3D is fun.

LAMA Designs

Today I stumbled upon a beautiful little online shop named LAMA (Latin America in the Modern Age). The shop sells allsorts of things that are made/designed by Latino artists "who find inspiration for their work from this colorful culture". There's a great eclectic range of items for sale but I instantly fell in love with the ceramic tableware...just too cute!

Check out LAMA yourself!

Paper Boats 3D

This is another version of my Paper Boats image; this time as a 3D illustration.
I wanted to experiment with mixing 2D & 3D within a single picture - quite pleased with the outcome actually :)

Paper Boats

This illustration simply came from some random scribbles...paper boats, a tree trunk and a sprinkle of rain. No human character for a change too!

Zedd CDs

This morning I was excited to open a package that had arrived in the post because I knew there was a John Zedd CD hiding inside the bubblewrap. In fact, there were 2 of them (thanks again, John!).

I was slightly worried that the texture in the design might not be picked up during print but it did beautifully and I'm very happy with how they turned out. I think seeing your own work in context is the best reward :)

To listen to John's music, go to his MySpace, or to purchase a CD yourself go here to CD Baby.

A while ago I made my TV character into a papercraft toy and it's now available for anyone to download here on cubeecraft.com! Let me know if you make one yourself :)
