After a period of thought and a little bit of number crunching, I recently realised that my
annekatran.com site isn't doing much good anymore. For a long time,
my blog and
my Flickr have been enjoying around 92% of my traffic, with most clients having also landed at those spots too. So, I've decided to bite the bullet and say farewell to having a domain hosted website (instead, I'm planning on adding a gallery page here, just so my better pieces are together somewhere).
Since I hardly ever check other artists' portfolio sites and prefer to follow their blogs, I see this as a fitting change - people's portfolio work is often outdated (including mine) and blogs are proving to be a perfect platform for artists to experiment more freely.
Of course, I'm not suggesting that portfolios are completely useless! It's totally dependent on people's experiences and mine just seems to have changed.
