Wow this blog is pretty dusty... *blows*

Can't believe it's been well over a month since I last posted here - sorry for the lack of activity everyone! Basically I've had my programming head screwed on for a while and been hard at work learning lots of new things to get Odonata back up to scratch.

I did put my drawing head on for a while though, because I couldn't make this post without any pictures!

Birthday Plants

For the first time ever, this year my mum & I shared a birthday cake which was pretty cool (her birthday is the day after mine). A huge amount of dim sum and some warm weather made the day even better!

Here's the card I drew for her this year...

Diablo 3

I didn't consciously intend to make any of these pieces of fan art, but they seemed to come out while I was casually experimenting with the lasso tool. Had a lot of fun doing these though; it was very refreshing to have less control of the silhouettes than usual.

Also, Diablo 3 is great.

Father Fox

Well, this blog has certainly been gathering some dust. I'm going to have to apologise for the lack of regular posts... my hands have been spending more time programming than drawing (even this fox took quite some effort to finish!). I couldn't not draw something for my dad on Father's Day though, he's the greatest :)

Flame

Oof, didn't realise that it's been 3 weeks since my last post on here - Odonata's been going through some significant changes recently and time just seems to be flying by insanely fast!

This flame-y guy came from a really tiny doodle in my notebook, I like it when that happens.

Decided to draw the soup I ate today. Tasted pretty good.

Odonata's game blog is alive!

So it's the end of March and, true to our word (almost!), Rob & I have launched the Odonata game development blog. It's certainly been a testing month but we're glad to finally be able to share and show you what we've achieved so far.

Head over to the new blog to watch some videos, see some screenshots and read more about the game!

March

March has been a tough month so far; pulling the game together into a presentable state has proven to be much more work than expected, but things are going well as you might be glad to hear :)

There's always time for a bit of drawing though. Here's two cards I made recently for my family:

One for my lovely mum on Mother's Day...

...and one for my youngest sister who isn't so young any more.

Odonata news

Woah, didn't realise how long it's been since my last post on here... over 3 weeks?!?

The simple reason is that Rob and I have been working crazy hard on getting the wheels rolling for our game, Odonata. At the beginning of this year, after many engine switches and a lot of learning, we got our plans set in stone and began the real work.

There's more to it all, but instead of repeating everything, I'll send you over to Rob's blog post where there's a detailed write up of our progress so far. In conclusion though, we're going to be showing our first development stuff on March 31st!

For now, here's a quick illustration of the game's main character, Aethena!
