After a period of thought and a little bit of number crunching, I recently realised that my annekatran.com site isn't doing much good anymore. For a long time, my blog and my Flickr have been enjoying around 92% of my traffic, with most clients having also landed at those spots too. So, I've decided to bite the bullet and say farewell to having a domain hosted website (instead, I'm planning on adding a gallery page here, just so my better pieces are together somewhere).
Since I hardly ever check other artists' portfolio sites and prefer to follow their blogs, I see this as a fitting change - people's portfolio work is often outdated (including mine) and blogs are proving to be a perfect platform for artists to experiment more freely.
Of course, I'm not suggesting that portfolios are completely useless! It's totally dependent on people's experiences and mine just seems to have changed.
hey they lost your tablet... sorry for that. ;)
ReplyDeleteI chanced upon your solar system at ffffound and came visiting and I love your design/drawing/everything. Makes me smile. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd, more to the point, while I first came to your .com, I've subscribed to your blog and have wandered around your flickr. Blogs are more interesting, and flickr easier to navigate.
Just my tuppence.
Glad you posted this pic on flickr! I saw the pic, was curious, and then saw that you have a blog! YAAAAY! (I'm a little slow getting the memo.) Added you to my list of blogs so I can catch up with to the rest of the world who already has been reading.
